It’s not always the case that something quality has to necessarily cost $$$. Most of Windows users can have legal software in their computers without having to buy something. www.freeware-software.org collects freeware software for Windows OS which are fully capable of what even hellish expansive software can do. Office Applications, Graphics and DTP, Internet, Security and Privacy Protection, Multimedia and other tools and utilities. As nice extra, web has decent directory to games we used to play when we were all little younger, and have become cults over time.

[including, GTA, Fish Fillets, Super Mario, or even tactical multiplayer first-person shooter owned by the U.S. government, financed through U.S. tax dollars and distributed free by the U.S. Army :]

Write Your Blog Within Microsoft Word

6 01 2008
Typing your own post title

As stupid as it may sound, I have just discovered that one can type out his own blog directly within his Microsoft Office Word 2007. Nevertheless, this just underlines the general notion that this feature of new 2007 Office Package is not well known, therefore I decided to check it out. Actually, this post is being typed out in Word right now. So let’s see what it can do.

As any other document in Office, you open new blog exactly same way [It gives you nice option between Blank Document and New Blog Post]. If you are using this feature for the first time, a dialog box pops out asking you for your weblog provider [Windows Live Spaces, Blogger, SharePoint, Community Server, beloved WordPress, Typepad, etc.]. Even if yours is not listed, you should still be able to proceed with registration that follows right after, asking you for your login information so that Office knows where to send these blog posts to.

Immediately, after doing so, it brings you back to the blank page where you can write your post. Already predefined is the title, but you are free to create your own too, as you wish. As usual, the spell checker works very nicely too. At the same time you are free to change the style of your text as you wish [just like in regular Word document]. Classically Undo/Repeat buttons are there too [just like /almost/ anything you find in Microsoft Word]…

Bold, italics, underlined, strikethrough, different
fonts, sizes and all the other effects that we are used to,

maybe even more that your basic blog plans provide you with.

Again, inserting hyperlinks, symbols [©®™№],

,

Tables…

1st place John Smith Male
2nd place Jane Smith Female

Charts …

including SmartArt…

Different shapes…

Or clipart/picture of your choice…and then you can easily resize, edit, add special effects or control the text placement.

Once you are done with playing around and you want to categorize your blog post, you can simply do so by clicking on the “Insert Category” button. Then it will connect with your blog provider service. Just below your title, a new pop-down menu will appear, where all your previous categories [as saved on your blog server] appear and you are free to choose or create a brand new one. However, I experienced troubles with finding the way of choosing more that one category, which I have not been able to proceed with, yet. The same applies for tagging, so I believe one has to do so through the individual web-editors. If there is some other way, bring it up below in comments, please. Any other further management of your blog would have to be done online too. Microsoft Word is just a tool for writing the individual posts.

In case you own several blogs hosted by different service providers, you can easily manage add, remove or edit the existing one [with an option of setting one them as default]. One can even open already existing blog, such as my first one I wrote on Danny DeFisho, see below:

so here I am, typing out my very first blog post, ain’t dat amazing? I just wonder for how long I will be motivated enough to run this thing… the more you click on here, the better chance of getting out some juicy stuff about your president ;)

Directly from Microsoft Word you have “Home Page” button which takes you directly to your blog page on the internet. The publishing itself should be easy too, and if you are reading this post on my blog, then it means that it works!!! Before you publish, you have an option of publishing it directly or as a draft. Now, if it will all really appear on my blog as it does on here [which it does], than I have no reason [if am not a CSS capable due to my plan] to stop writing my posts from Microsoft Word [this shall apply the notion that you own your own computer, because for public places, you will have to stick with the web].
