Using Photoshop nowadays is almost as necessary as any other software application out there. Whether you need to pimp up your party pictures, create poster for your event, or just play around with images for your web.

Nevertheless, it is always little problem when it comes down to learning of how to do something in Photoshop. There are many different tutorials that focus on basics, but for me and you this is far too little.

Recently, I was trying to come up with some cool poster for one of the movie nights that I get to organize at school, and was about to create some cool texting for my TITLE. I browsed Google to find something and this came across my Firefox- The Best 80 Photoshop Text Effects on the Web.

Maybe its not the best tutorial page ever, but it has some pretty cool text effects that you might wanna check out.

Get Rid Of ‘Too Visible’ Recent Documents In XP Start Menu

2 01 2008
Start Menu showing Documents sub menu

“When I click on the start menu there’s a tab which reads “Documents”. This tab keeps track of all the files I open, and I want to know how I can turn it off, or get rid of it all together.”

Does that sound any familiar? Yes, the My Documents folder in your Start Menu on your Windows keeps track of all the files you have accessed recently /like your favorite XXX files?/ and thus help you keep track of your recent works. Personally, I have never really used this option in Windows /maybe for couple exceptions/but at times it gets pretty annoying by its visibility, especially if your computer is used by somebody else as well, and you simple do not want them to know what have you been doing before they sat there.

For those of you who would like to get rid of this little problem, Ask-Leo.com gives good guide of “How do I remove the Documents item on my Start Menu.” In the end you realize that it is not very difficult to erase this list, but get rid of it completely as well. This could help you sleep better at nights. :D

I have to admit, that my computer is from time to time full of folders that are not needed anymore or simply that are empty and just clog the directories and confuse the hell out of me.

Until recently, I have been looking for these empty folders literally clicking from directory to directory and opening these folders and checking if they posses anything. However, recently I came across this very handy application that does exactly the same job for you in a matter of few clicks on the whole directories. This free and open source application Remove Empty Directories is IT to fight such problem.

However, I would avoid using this application on the entire drives since there are many applications you would not like to see dis-function just like that. Nevertheless, this application comes in very handy for your music or other media folders which is exactly the most common place where such empty folders could appear.

The image “http://www.noticiastech.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/snadboy.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

I am sure that all of us, at one point or another forgot a password to this application or that web login. There are many free tools to recover these passwords, but if you managed to save them in your browser, or application /something like save my login information/ then this little piece of software /literally little- abt 2KB/, SnadBoy Software, could save your life.

Turn Your PC into MAC

Are you one of those ‘jealous’ people /just like me/ who do not have the privilege of working with MACs but PCs instead? Well, do not give up that quickly! There is an easy, yet powerful way of how to help yourself set ‘the mac mood’ by changing your working environment theme. I know there have been many /not too successful attempts to create more ‘eye pleasurable’ working spaces, but so far I came across only one quality for Windows Vista look /via Vista Inspirat/ and now this MAC OS look/FlyakiteOSX/. This freeware application transforms your system so that it convincingly looks like MAC OS while still running your good ol’ Windows. You get the complete package theme /from loading system screen to taskbar and so known dockbar as well/.

However, I believe that Vista users would have to wait for some later release, as they are not supported at current time.

Windows Users, do not hesitate and check it out at http://osx.portraitofakite.com/
